Apple Crisp

Ingredients:

4 C. baking apples, peeled, sliced, cored (about 4 medium)
2/3 to 3/4 C. brown sugar (packed)
1/2 C. flour
1/2 C. rolled oats
3/4 t. cinnamon
3/4 t. nutmeg
1/3 C. soft butter

Instructions:

Place prepared apples in a greased 8" square pan
Blend remaining ingredients until crumbly, then spread over apples
Bake until apples are tender and topping is golden brown

Apple Brown Betty

To make a Brown Betty instead of the above Apple Crisp, place alternate layers of sliced apples and crumb mixture in pan. Pour 1/4 C. water over the top. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes at 375°.
